This entry is part 6 of 14 in the series Introduction to Spirituality

Introduction

Source is such a larger force beyond us that it actually doesn’t require us to try to define it too strictly. It’s there to guide you to befriend you, to support you, to enlighten you and to lift you up. It can be whatever you want to be.

What is Source?

Subtle

Source appears in the arms of a friend who supports you, the perfect timing of a need that has been fulfilled, or even in the moments where you pick yourself up and don’t know how you were able to do it. God is found in the smallest acts of the everyday. You don’t have to recognize source for it to be there.

Self-sufficient

Source does not require worship, adoration, fasting prayer or anything that places heavy burdens on the human mind or will. Source is simply there. Some believe we wait until the end to meet source, not realising that we have had it alongside us every day.

There when you need it

Source is willing to work with you if you can work with it. Its not your master or guru, its not your saviour or your parent. It can simply be seen as a friend. If you work closely with source, you will find your life can drastically change.

Liberating

You don’t have to pray to a God and ask it to give you what you want. You are a capable and powerful spirit all on your own and you can manifest and bring things into your life completely on your own.

Already within you

This is the key as you might be spending a lot of time looking outside of you. You are the creator, you are source, you are this God that you pray to. You are the activator of your dreams, the arbiter of your future. A lot of us sit and pray to something we think is existing ‘up there’ when really our source inside of us, is listening to what we need or want, and then activating what it takes to get us there.

Exercise

Use time to reflect on a moment when you realised that a higher power was operating in your life.
